Guide
measuring
For a cover that fits your switch or outlet perfectly, we need a few measurements. It takes 1–2 minutes.
Measured, add to orderWhat you’ll need
any flat object:
for example, a plastic card,
a book or a second ruler.
Please
measure:
Width
From the left edge of the plate to the right.
Height
From the top edge of the plate to the bottom.
Depth from the wall
This is the distance from the wall to the most protruding part of the switch, usually the rocker.
How to measure correctly
width and height
Hold the ruler right against the plate and measure it edge to edge.
If the plate isn’t perfectly flat, is rounded or has decorative edges, measure at the outermost points. We need the maximum size so the cover fits right.
How to measure depth from the wall
(for a cover)
Hold the ruler upright next to the switch, pointing out from the wall.
Then hold a flat object against the most protruding part of the switch or rocker. Where it crosses the ruler is the depth we need.
How to measure depth from the wall
(for a frame)
Just the plate itself, without the rocker!
The numbers in the diagrams are examples. Enter your actual sizes in millimeters (1 in = 25.4 mm).
